Community Leadership
Liderazgo Comunitario is a series workshops seek to invoke civic engagement amongst low income immigrant women living in Long Beach. These workshops take place in the evenings once a month between February and November through these workshops community members will learn and discuss the concept of identity and how it shapes our daily life in relation to power and its effects. We will be discussing economic inequality, sexism, homophobia, and the structure of the education system for youth. Participants will have the opportunity to gain organizing tools that they will be able to apply to local, and state advocacy campaigns. There will be support and tools given through any of these advocacy engagements from our community organizers.

Liderazgo Comunitario es una serie de talleres que busca invocar el compromiso civil entre mujeres inmigrantes en Long Beach. Estos talleres toman lugar una vez al mes entre los meses de Febrero a Noviembre y son ofrecidos completamente en español. A través de estos talleres nuestros miembros aprenden y discuten sobre conceptos de identidad y como esto forma nuestra vida diaria. Discutimos desigualdad económica, sexismo, homofobia, y la estructura educacional para jóvenes. Los participantes tendrán la oportunidad de aprender herramientas para organizar a la comunidad que nuestros miembros pueden utilizar en campañas locales y estatales.
